The Buckleback is discontinued around 1942.

Due to the sharpness of the needles, I advise all customers to be careful when handling the buckle. I will attach the buckle at your request. We now use the modern Japanese-made buckle. 

This is the famous, French SOLIDE brand buckle. At times I will find these in deadstock, and can provide it at market cost when available. Please inquire. 

When the popularity shifted from suspenders to belts, people began cutting the Buckle Back off to avoid getting in the way of the belt. Even in vintage clothing, you'll often notice the Buckle Back is removed.
